Adaptive Interval Type-2 Fuzzy SOSM Control for Nonlinear Systems with Uncertainties

In this paper, in order to address the uncertainties of nonlinear systems, a novel control strategy by combining the interval type-2 fuzzy logic system (IT2-FLS) and second-order sliding mode control (SOSM) is proposed. Firstly, the IT2-FLS is utilized to estimate the uncertain functional constraints. Secondly, an adaptive interval type-2 fuzzy SOSM control strategy on the basis of the IT2-FLS and the backstepping-like method is developed. Thirdly, the system’s finite-time stability is rigorously established through the Lyapunov theory. The comparative simulation results are offered to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in swiftly achieving the state regulation to zero and mitigating the issue of chattering.
