Organization of Delivery Room Resuscitation for High-Risk Neonates
摘要
This review explores the current literature on how to organize the delivery room resuscitation of high-risk neonates.
FindingsWe describe early identification of high-risk neonates, antenatal counseling, team briefing, and preparation before the birth of the infant. The key to successful neonatal resuscitation includes an assessment of perinatal risk factors, anticipation, preparation, clinical evaluation, and prompt initiation of support. Simulation-based learning and team debriefing can improve resuscitation preparedness and contribute to improved team performance. The role of telemedicine for neonatal resuscitation in the event of high-risk births outside tertiary centers is described.
SummaryResuscitation of high-risk neonates relies on anticipation, preparation, team briefing, the presence of skilled personnel, and prompt initiation of resuscitation. This report will help the neonatal resuscitation team in dealing with deliveries of high-risk neonates.
