<p>This phenomenological study explores the experiences and perceptions of service users of Indian origin at a private addiction rehabilitation center in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Despite the availability of various intervention programs and support systems, drug abuse rates continue to escalate, raising concerns about the effectiveness of rehabilitation efforts in the country. This research seeks to understand the personal insights of service users regarding the rehabilitation programs they undergo. A qualitative research design was employed, utilizing a focus group discussion with 10 Malaysian participants. Thematic analysis was conducted using deductive coding, resulting in six key themes: (1) reasons for seeking help, (2) initial vs current experiences, (3) coping strategies, (4) social support networks, (5) improvements and success, and (6) challenges and obstacles. Findings revealed that participants were generally satisfied with the rehabilitation services, particularly praising meditation, yoga, and physical activities for their role in managing substance cravings. These activities contributed positively to both physical and mental health, underscoring their value in addiction recovery. This study provides valuable insights into service user experiences, offering potential directions for enhancing rehabilitation programs in Malaysia to reduce relapse rates and improve overall outcomes.</p>
