Creating a Longitudinal, Clinical Dermatology Curriculum Based on Student Preferences and Gaps in Learning as Determined by a Needs Assessment

Although 27% of the population seeks dermatologic care annually, dermatology is not a required topic in curriculum design in US medical schools. To determine the need, perceptions, and future directions for a curriculum, a formal needs assessment was conducted and based on these findings a tailored curriculum was created.
