Die Pilates-Methode in der betrieblichen Gesundheitsförderung

The Pilates method is a holistic body workout, which was developed 100 years ago by Joseph Hubertus Pilates. The focus is on strengthening the deep muscles near joints as well as the conscious promotion of posture, mobility and breathing. In addition, the method can help to positively influence musculoskeletal complaints and stress-related burdens at the workplace. For this reason, the Pilates method is becoming increasingly more important in both the preventive and rehabilitative contexts. This article discusses the definition of the Pilates method as well as the conceivable areas of application in occupational health promotion.
