Die Wirkung von Clowndoktoren auf Mitarbeitende allgemeinpädiatrischer Akutstationen

This study examined the impact of clown doctors on staff in general pediatric acute care units. Using a phenomenological qualitative research approach and semi-structured interviews with 10 hospital staff members, their perceptions and experiences with clown doctors were captured in detail. The findings show that clown doctors, through their humorous interactions, have both direct and indirect positive effects on the emotional well-being, job satisfaction and overall satisfaction among staff. In particular, direct interactions with clown doctors are perceived as a pleasant and motivating break in the often stressful hospital routine. Additionally, clown doctors not only improve the mood of patients but also contribute to fostering a positive work environment. The analysis reveals that the presence of clown doctors helps to reduce the perceived emotional stress among staff and strengthens cooperation within the healthcare team. The study highlights the importance of regularly integrating clown doctors into the hospital routine not only to support patient recovery but also to sustainably improve working conditions for staff. The findings provide valuable insights for future research, especially regarding the long-term effects of clown doctors on job satisfaction and the well-being of healthcare workers.
