Erhebung der arbeitsplatzbezogenen subjektiven Belastungs- und Beanspruchungssituation von Akkord- und Fließbandarbeitern im Versandhandel

In an increasingly digitalized society employees in the mail order sector are exposed to a high workload due to rising demands, which can be not only physical but also psychological in nature. Piecework and assembly line work in particular, as a form of clock-based work, are widespread in the mail order industry and place high demands on employees. This study analyzed the subjective psychological and physical stress factors and the resulting subjective stress consequences of piecework and assembly line workers in a German logistics company. A total of 49 subjects were recruited, of whom 24 (mean age 47.5 ± 11.6 years) were employed in order picking under piecework conditions and 25 (mean age 49.4 ± 9.1 years) on the assembly line. The subjective stress factors and the resulting strain were recorded using the questionnaire for the subjective assessment of stress at the workplace (FEBA). The pieceworkers were significantly more likely to report a high physical workload (p < 0.05), whereas the assembly line workers were more likely to suffer from a lack of exercise (p < 0.001) and long periods of sitting (p < 0.001). Preventive measures to maintain the health of mail order employees and thus their long-term ability to work are derived from the results.
