摘要

Health-oriented leadership should play a particularly important role in medical care as it can make a significant contribution to maintaining the health of employees in everyday clinical practice. The health and ability to work of employees is a fundamental prerequisite for ensuring healthcare. The general influence of managers on the health of employees is well documented. This article is intended to provide an introduction and overview of the state of knowledge on health-oriented leadership in healthcare. In an exploratory literature review the study results on health-oriented leadership in the medical care context are summarized. The key findings of previous studies show that health-oriented leadership can have a significantly positive influence on the health of employees. Overall, leadership is a relevant factor for workplace health promotion in hospital organizations. The empirical state of research shows that there is still a need for research into health-orientated leadership in the context of medical care. Leadership interventions are promising strategies for promoting the mental health of employees in the healthcare sector. As the currently available findings are limited, analyses and scientific assessments in this field should be expanded.
