<p>In the era of artificial intelligence, the grabbing for users’ limited cognitive resources has intensified, particularly within algorithm-driven platforms. This paper investigates the mechanisms and effects of hashtag-based information dissemination in social media environments, emphasizing the role of cognitive intervention in opinion governance. Drawing upon theories from cognitive psychology, communication studies, and human–computer interaction, the study examines how hashtags influence users’ selective attention and emotional arousal, shaping public discourse. The authors argue that hashtags serve not only as tools for categorization and retrieval but also as strategic cognitive cues that can guide attention, modulate interpretation, and weaken bias. Through an interdisciplinary analysis, the paper proposes a framework for understanding hashtag-induced cognitive grabbing and suggests countermeasures—such as intentional hashtag design and real-time feedback systems—for fostering rational engagement and mitigating misinformation. This study contributes to the field of computational communication by bridging cognitive mechanisms with digital governance strategies in a hashtag-saturated media ecology.</p>
