La Dieta Mediterranea incontra la crononutrizione: una nuova piramide alimentare basata sul cronotipo

The Mediterranean Diet is one of the most effective dietary patterns for preventing metabolic and cardiovascular diseases. However, current recommendations and food pyramid guidelines do not take into account the role of circadian rhythms and individual chronotypes. In recent years, chrononutrition has highlighted how the timing of food intake influences energy metabolism, hormonal regulation, and adherence to dietary patterns. This review analyses the main evidence on the relationship between chronotype, eating behaviours, and the Mediterranean Diet, discussing a new food pyramid that integrates food quality, meal timing, and lifestyle factors.
