摘要

Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) have become a cornerstone in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), due to their efficacy in both glycaemic control and cardio- and nephroprotection. In contrast, their hepatic effects remain less well characterised. This review provides an overview of the currently available evidence on the impact of this class of glucose-lowering drugs in the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), which represents an additional cardiovascular risk factor for patients with “cardio-renal-metabolic” syndrome.
