Sorveglianza attiva del microcarcinoma papillare a basso rischio della tiroide: stato dell’arte
摘要
Low-risk micro-papillary thyroid carcinoma (mPTC) is a neoplasm with an excellent prognosis for which active surveillance represents a safe and feasible therapeutic approach. Although this assurance is supported by solid and extensive prospective data, no reference guidelines are yet available in Europe to clarify how active surveillance should be conducted in detail, nor which clinical and ultrasonographic features require particular attention. The aim of this Review is to highlight the key principles of active surveillance, as well as the aspects that still warrant further investigation, in order to provide the most comprehensive guidance possible for both clinicians and patients.
