摘要
Central insipidus, also known as arginine vasopressin deficiency, is a complex clinical condition that can be caused by several congenital and/or acquired hypothalamic-pituitary disorders. This article provides a practical overview of the condition, from aetiology to diagnostic workup, focusing on the usefulness of copeptin and the importance of brain MRI, to the management. We also highlight several pitfalls that may complicate the differential diagnosis of conditions presenting with polyuria and polydipsia.
