<p>In addition to the direct costs for prevention and treatment interventions, pathologies often have less “evident” but still important costs for the patient, for their caregivers, and for society itself (loss of working days, costs related to disability, etc.). These costs, however, are not yet being fully considered in the economic-health assessments that underlie therapeutic choices. The aim of this review is to provide a clarification regarding the socioeconomic impact of acromegaly and its available treatments.</p>
