Contraccezione e salute sessuale
摘要
Hormonal contraception can improve female sexuality by reducing the fear of unwanted pregnancy and alleviating painful symptoms and signs of hyperandrogenism. However, some women may experience negative effects, such as reduced desire and vulvovaginal atrophy, especially with low oestrogen doses. Although the evidence on the subject is still limited, in 2019 the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM) suggested modifying the type and formulations (e.g., non-oral) in cases of contraception-induced sexual dysfunction.
