Paratormone e paratormone peptide-relato: gemelli diversi
摘要
Parathyroid hormone and parathyroid hormone related peptide (PTHrP) share structural and functional homologies; they increase renal calcium reabsorption and osteoclastic reabsorption. While parathyroid hormone exerts its action as a hormone, PTHrP acts mainly at autocrine, paracrine and intracrine levels. Differences between the two peptides and their analogues can be exploited to optimise the therapeutic effect, determining less activation of bone remodelling with an increase in the anabolic window.
