Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease with an increasing incidence and prevalence in our population, and anti-resorptive drugs are a cornerstone of its medical treatment. However, in the very common condition of hypovitaminosis D the effect of these treatments is suboptimal. In this brief-review, we aimed to present the pathophysiological basis and practical aspects of vitamin D supplementation in combination with anti-resorptive therapies in osteoporosis.
