SGLT-2 inibitori nel trattamento dell’iponatremia. Quale ruolo?
摘要
Na+-glucose cotransporter type 2 inhibitors induce glycosuria and osmotic diuresis. The increase of free water excretion, which reduces the circulating volume and determines heart and kidney protection independently of their hypoglycaemic action, makes them potentially effective in patients affected by chronic hyponatraemia. Treatment options available for this electrolyte imbalance, which is associated with high morbidity and mortality, are few and often poorly tolerated, ineffective or expensive.
