Gestione del carcinoma tiroideo in età pediatrica
摘要
Thyroid cancer is a rare paediatric tumour, more aggressive than adult cancer, although the prognosis is excellent even in the presence of distant metastases. The increased incidence of thyroid cancer, especially papillary carcinoma, has also been detected in paediatric subjects as well as in adults. Until 2015, the recommendations for the management of thyroid cancer in the paediatric age were extrapolated from the guidelines for adults but, since the neoplasm is different in presentation, pathophysiology and clinical evolution, specific guidelines have been published in recent years.
