Strategies for Overcoming Barriers to Publishing Quality Assurance Research in Applied Behavior Analysis
摘要
We discuss the role of publishing quality assurance (QA) research in applied behavior analysis (ABA) to enhance services and outcomes for autistic individuals. Despite recognizing the value of QA research, many behavior analysts may face significant personal, organizational, and publishing process barriers that prevent them from publishing QA research. In this paper, we identify these barriers and propose actionable strategies to support practitioners and researchers in contributing to the QA literature within ABA effectively. We emphasize the need for a supportive culture for dissemination, and how aligning QA goals with clinical efficacy can lead to more effective treatment delivery. We propose that by sharing information gathered from QA processes and outcomes, behavior analysts can inform policies and practices, which benefit clients and the broader healthcare system. This paper is intended to serve as a guide to help behavior analysts overcome QA publication barriers so that as a field we can improve the standard of ABA services for autistic individuals.
