Objective <p>To analyze the temporal trend of dietary consumption indicators among Brazilian children under 24&#xa0;months, according to self-reported race/skin color.</p> Methods <p>This is an ecological time-series study using data extracted from the public report on dietary consumption markers from the Food and Nutrition Surveillance System from 2015 to 2022, with stratification by geographic region and self-reported race/skin color. The following dietary practice indicators were considered: exclusive breastfeeding (EBF), continued breastfeeding (CBF), minimum dietary diversity (MDD), and ultra-processed food consumption (UPF). The annual increase rate (AIR) was estimated using Prais-Winsten generalized linear regression, adjusted for the total number of follow-ups.</p> Results <p>A total of 399,988 records were analyzed for EBF and 906,391 for CBF. A stationary trend was observed for EBF (AIR: -1.49; <i>p</i> = 1.89), CBF (AIR: -0.84; <i>p</i> = 0.30), and MDD (AIR: -0.81; <i>p</i> = 0.10) in the overall population and most regions, except in the South region. Among children with self-reported black and mixed race/skin color, an increasing trend was observed for EBF (AIR: 0.11; <i>p</i> &lt; 0.01) and CBF (AIR: 0.70; <i>p</i> = 0.01).</p> Conclusion <p>The findings of this study suggest better trends in healthy eating indicators among children with self-reported black and mixed race/skin color. These results highlight that public health policies have contributed to reducing health inequities. However, further research is needed to investigate children's dietary consumption while considering socioeconomic and cultural factors.</p>
