摘要

This study examines service providers’ interactions with Black immigrant survivors of domestic violence, focusing on their perspectives regarding the help-seeking process. Ten participants, comprising case workers, mental health professionals, and counselors, participated in interviews, unveiling key barriers such as language, perceptions of domestic violence, limited knowledge of resources, and a lack of culturally sensitive services. Service providers, attributing unproductive experiences to a deficiency in culturally appropriate resources, propose training in the intersectionality of domestic violence and cultural sensitivity. This training aims to empower providers to deliver more suitable and culturally sensitive services, ultimately overcoming identified barriers in the help-seeking process.
