Redefining Literature Education: The Role of ChatGPT in Undergraduate Courses
摘要
This exploratory study investigates the efficacy of ChatGPT as a pedagogical tool in undergraduate English literature courses. In response to declining reading habits and engagement, it explores innovative strategies that leverage Artificial Intelligence to enhance student interest and comprehension of literary texts. Focusing on George Orwell’s Animal Farm, the study examines how AI-generated alternative narrative endings impact students’ analytical skills, engagement, perceptions of authenticity, and understanding of narrative development. Using a mixed-methods approach, including comparative text analysis and student surveys, the findings indicate that ChatGPT enriches the literary analysis process and fosters a more interactive learning environment. The study contributes to the growing discourse on AI in education, suggesting that careful integration of AI technologies can complement traditional teaching methods and support more dynamic, critical engagement with literature.
