A new approach to inverse problems for Sturm–Liouville operators with homogeneous delay

In this paper, we study Sturm–Liouville operators with homogeneous delay and an additional condition. We introduce a novel approach to solving inverse problems in this setting, establishing a clear connection with the classical Sturm–Liouville operator. We address the inverse problem in a special case, analyzing the spectral properties of these operators and providing its solution. In addition, we examine the uniform stability of the inverse problem. Our methodology addresses key deficiencies in previous studies and highlights errors in earlier investigations of inverse problems for these operators. These findings provide new insights into differential operators with deviating arguments and contribute to the further development of this research area. Finally, we propose new open problems for future exploration.
