A Comprehensive Review of Laser Wobble Welding Processes in Metal Materials: Processing Parameters and Practical Applications

摘要

Nowadays, the laser welding process has gained significant popularity and finds extensive applications. For instance, in automobile manufacturing and aerospace industry. Despite its numerous advantages and unique features, the conventional laser welding process has certain limitations and weaknesses. To address these shortcomings, researchers have proposed a new approach known as the “Laser wobble welding process.” Which this method can strongly increase weld ability in challenging material and adapt better weld quality. This study aims to investigate effects of processing parameters of this innovative technique on defect removal and enhancement of weld joint characteristics in practical applications. The laser wobble welding process involves the oscillating movement of the laser beam. Consequently, this phenomenon results in enhanced characteristics of the weld joint. Despite its potential, there exists a research gap in comprehensively investigation the influence of processing parameters in the laser wobble welding process and a continuous summary is not seen. In this study, it strives to provide a comprehensive analysis of the processing parameters involved in the laser wobble welding process. The research focuses on exploring their impact on the weld joint characteristics and current applications. Finally, it is presented the primary application of the laser wobble welding process, particularly in two key areas: 1- Enhancing weldability of challenging materials and 2- Overcoming material incompatibility in non-homogeneous materials through laser welding. This study also investigates and offers valuable insights into the potential of the laser wobble welding process and its implications for improving welding outcomes in challenging aspects.
