Prediction of Uniaxial Compressive Strength and Young’s Modulus of Marly limestone using Regression Models
摘要
The Tanjero Formation underlies much of Sulaimani City in Iraq and consists mainly of interbedded marl and sandstone. Its key geotechnical properties, including uniaxial compressive strength (UCS), Young’s modulus (E), ultrasonic pulse velocity (Vp), Schmidt rebound value (RL), and point load index (Is(50)), have not been fully investigated despite being essential for rock mass classification. In this study, thirty-three high-quality core samples were obtained from the site at different depths and locations. The single and multiple correlations models were developed to determine UCS from Vp, RL, Is(50), and density. The outcome of this study showed that non-destructive tests can be rationally used to determine the UCS of the Tanjero Formation.
