Geospatial Modelling of Soil Engineering Properties in Bengkulu City: A Three-Dimensional Approach

摘要

This paper presents geospatial modelling of soil engineering properties in Bengkulu City. The research started with a geotechnical data collection of 216 points at the study site, which consisted of five soil layers: sand, clay, soft rock, medium rock, and hard rock. Empirical analysis was conducted to obtain the values of soil engineering parameters. The three-dimensional geological structure modelling included several soil engineering parameters: shear wave velocity, cone resistance, penetration value, soil cohesion, elastic modulus, and internal friction angle, utilising the inverse distance weighting (IDW) interpolation approach. The results of this research include geological variation data, 3D geological modelling of the Bengkulu subsurface, 3D geological modelling for engineering properties parameters, statistical parameters, and probability density functions obtained. In addition, the results showed that the average value of each soil engineering property received from the analysis is comparable to the findings of other researchers in the field. The agreement indicated that three-dimensional geological structure modelling can be applied to solve current practical problems. Generally, this research is expected to be applied in soil investigation and construction development plans in the Bengkulu City area.
