The impact of entrepreneurial bricolage on sustainable entrepreneurship in China: the mediating role of digital transformation and the moderating role of green innovation

At present, the academic and business communities’ attention to sustainable entrepreneurship of new ventures is increasing day by day. However, existing research has obvious deficiencies in the specific mechanisms by which entrepreneurial bricolage promotes sustainable entrepreneurship, especially in terms of bricolage approaches and the exertion of their effects, which urgently need in - depth exploration. Grounded in the Sustainable Entrepreneurship Theory and the Entrepreneurial Bricolage Theory et al., this research centers on the correlations among entrepreneurial bricolage, green innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable entrepreneurship. For one thing, it delves deep into the mediating effect of entrepreneurial bricolage on sustainable entrepreneurship via green innovation. For another, it lays emphasis on exploring the moderating function of digital transformation in the process where entrepreneurial bricolage impacts green innovation and green innovation drives sustainable entrepreneurship. This study undertakes an empirical analysis based on the data of 331 entrepreneurs in China. The empirical outcomes clearly demonstrate that entrepreneurial bricolage remarkably promotes sustainable entrepreneurship by strengthening green innovation. At the same time, digital transformation exerts a non - ignorable promoting influence in moderating the impact of entrepreneurial bricolage on green innovation and the impact of green innovation on sustainable entrepreneurship, and it constantly plays a crucial role throughout the whole process. The research findings of this study not only deepen the theoretical understanding of sustainable development but also offer highly valuable reference suggestions for entrepreneurs and policymakers.
