Microbial dysbiosis causes the dissemination of inflammatory mediators, which can contribute to the pathogenesis of systemic diseases.</p> Recent Findings <p>Recent studies have explored the oral-systemic axis to identify a suitable correlation between various microbial communities and systemic health. As this relationship is complex and bidirectional, establishing a uniform and defined pathway that links oral microbes and systemic health is challenging. However, researchers have identified certain pathways linking oral microbes to specific systemic diseases.</p> Summary <p>The paper sheds light on how imbalances in oral microbial communities can contribute to the development of various systemic diseases. It highlights the molecular mechanisms connecting the oral systemic axis, including possible pathways of microbial translocation, key pathogens associated with various systemic diseases, and the importance of integrating oral health.
