Purpose of Review

Maintaining good oral health is essential to enjoy eating, talking, and enriching life. Efforts for oral disorder prevention are crucial for maintaining a high quality of life. This study examined the current relationship between eating habits and oral conditions.

Recent Findings

Increasing evidence suggests that adherence to some dietary habits may reduce gingival inflammation. Meal sequence affects nutrient intake and general health. A bidirectional relationship between nutrition and chewing ability has also been proposed. Many studies have shown a link between dietary habits and dental caries at various life stages. Taste problems affect nutritional intake and are associated with overall health.

Summary

Maintaining the number of natural teeth and restoring masticatory ability are imperative for improving nutritional intake and maintaining general health, particularly in older individuals. Intake of tasty food is essential for healthy living; thus, sustaining the oral cavity in good condition leads to better overall health.
