This review explores their involvement in alloimmune responses following solid organ transplantation and their response to immunosuppressive therapies.</p> Recent Findings <p>γδ T cells can promote graft rejection by producing IL-17 and exerting cytotoxic effects. However, specific subsets, such as Vδ1<sup>+</sup> γδ T cells, are linked to immune tolerance, particularly in liver transplantation. Immunosuppressive agents impact γδ T cells differently: calcineurin inhibitors suppress their activity, whereas mTOR inhibitors enhance their antiviral and cytotoxic potential.</p> Summary <p>Despite growing evidence, the role of γδ T cells in transplantation remains unclear. Further research is needed to clarify their function and how they could be targeted to improve graft outcomes.</p>

Recent Findings

γδ T cells can promote graft rejection by producing IL-17 and exerting cytotoxic effects.
