<p>The paper presents design conditions for multiplicative fault detection. The direct impact of the occurrence of a multiplicative fault on the stability of the state observer is taken into account in the design process by means of an observer input adapted to a vertical strip of state-multiplicative faults. The proposed solution is based on the use of diagonal stabilization in the synthesis of the state observer and uses the decomposition of ostensible Metzler matrices. For potential applications in network control structures, the problem is formulated and solved for linear discrete-time ostensible positive systems with parameterization for norm-bounded faults. The properties of the proposed approach are illustrated by numerical examples.</p>
