Exponentially and finite-time stability using backstepping method for a nonlinear system in strict-feedback form

This paper presents a novel controller design for the finite-time stability of nonlinear systems in a strict feedback form using the backstepping method. First, an exponentially stabilizer feedback is proposed by the Lyapunov method. Then, the design method is extended to finite-time stability. To this purpose, two different Lyapunov functions are introduced. Some simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
