Topological reconstruction and optimal design method of modified face gear

The topological reconstruction method of modified tooth surface of face gear is proposed; based on the principle of tooth surface envelope forming, the mathematical expression of the topological reconstruction tooth surface is solved. The tooth contact analysis (TCA) model of the gear pair after topological reconstruction is established. The average transmission error and effective overlap are taken as the performance index, and the modification parameters are optimized by NSGA-III algorithm. On this basis, the loaded tooth contact analysis (LTCA) model of the gear pair after topological reconstruction is established. The modification parameters are optimized to improve contact stress and reduce edge contact. The results show that the effective overlap of the face gear pair selected with the optimal modification parameters is 2.378, which is 64% higher than that of the standard face gear pair, and the transmission error is controlled to 5.4″, maximum contact stress reduced by 18%.
