Influence of oblique cutting on the micro-cutting mechanism of FeCoCrNiAl0.6 high-entropy alloy
摘要
Oblique cutting, characterized by distinct cutting methods from orthogonal cutting, offers advantages such as smoother processes, lower vibration frequencies, and minimal workpiece impact. This study investigates the micro-cutting process under oblique cutting. The research findings indicate different trends in cutting forces with an increase in rake angle, particularly highlighting a significant linear growth of 524% in Fz at a rake angle of 25°. Temperature variations in chips and tools exhibit notable changes, with the tool surface temperature surpassing the critical temperature between the tool and chip at a rake angle of 15°. Post-cutting, residual compressive stresses dominate, reaching 906 MPa at a rake angle of 5°, but decreasing to 579 MPa at a rake angle of 20°. The increase in rake angle significantly weakens the compressive stress. Cutting speed influences Fx and Fz with an initial increase, subsequent decrease, and then increase again, while Fy remains relatively stable. The cutting temperature show a drastic increase with higher cutting speeds, with the chip temperature 1.45 times higher at 1100 mm/s compared to 500 mm/s, and the tool temperature 1.92 times higher than the initial temperature.
