The effect of cycle frequency on the wear resistance of valve in the diesel engine
摘要
In this paper, the effect of cycle frequency on the wear resistance of valve in a certain model of high-speed diesel engine was discussed. The intake valve and the exhaust valve were selected for the wear test. The valve seat insert was selected to wear against to the valve. A valve–valve seat wear test rig was used. Wear loss of valves under 600, 800, and 1000 r/min cycle frequency was obtained which could be used to evaluate the wear resistance. The results show that the wear loss of valves under 800 r/min cycle frequency and 1000 r/min cycle frequency is bigger than 600 r/min cycle frequency. The wear loss of valve under 800 r/min cycle frequency is bigger than that under the 1000 r/min cycle frequency. Cycle frequency affects valve rotation angle and cycle number. The wear behavior of the valve is affected by the valve rotation angle and cycle number. The relationship between the time of valve rotation and cycle frequency is nonlinear. In addition, the wear of the intake valve is larger than that of the exhaust valve was found. The reason is that the stress in intake valve contact surface is 846 Pa bigger than that 564 Pa in exhaust valve under same condition.
