摘要

Purpose of Review

Almost 2 million adolescents use e-cigarettes, putting them at risk for nicotine dependence and other physical and mental health issues. Developing, implementing, and evaluating effective e-cigarette prevention and intervention programs is therefore critical. This study reviewed US-based e-cigarette prevention and cessation programs currently available.

Recent Findings

Eleven prevention and seven cessation e-cigarette programs were identified through an online Google search conducted in July 2025. Most prevention and cessation programs were free, fully available online, explicitly theory-based, and included evidence-based best practices. Most prevention programs included education around flavored e-cigarette products, industry-targeted marketing, and activities to develop refusal skills. Seven prevention and three cessation programs empirically evaluated their e-cigarette-related program components.

Summary

There are several well-developed and effective e-cigarette prevention and intervention programs, each varying in programmatic details. Needed are more rigorous evaluations, particularly for e-cigarette cessation programs, as well as evaluations that examine whether there are differential program effects by demographic variables.
