<p>We propose a general class of matrix <i>q</i>-polynomials suggested by a general class of <i>q</i>-polynomials such as the generalized <i>q</i>-Humbert polynomial, <i>q</i>-Kinney polynomial, etc. We establish the matrix inverse pair for the proposed matrix <i>q</i>-polynomials for which we deduce the generating matrix functions and summation formulas. Interestingly, certain Riordan’s <i>q</i>-inverse pairs also assume matrix extension from our general inverse matrix pairs.</p>
