<p>Academic self-concept (ASC) is considered important factor to contribute the academic achievement and to find out the relationship between these two, extensive researches have been conducted in west. But still nature of the relationship is being researched widely. However, in Asia very few studies have been conducted. No systematic review was found regarding the relationship between ASC and academic achievement in India. Therefore, considering the need, the present study investigated the relationship between ASC and academic achievement through a systematic literature review. The PRISMA guidelines were applied to conduct the review, three databases were used ERIC, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar. After extensive search and meticulous screening total nine studies were found eligible for final systematic review. The results of all the nine studies were consistent and showed positive association between ASC and academic achievement. However, findings of most of the studies demonstrated positively low correlation between these two variables. Only one study showed positively high association and the findings of two studies reported reciprocal relationship. Lack of longitudinal studies was also found.</p>
