摘要

Dronabinol and nabilone, synthetic cannabinoids (SCs) that mimic the psychoactive component of cannabis delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), are approved in the USA for other indications, but not for chronic pain. The efficacy of THC SCs for chronic neuropathic pain is generally not supported by large well-designed studies, but there have been encouraging results from smaller studies in some chronic pain conditions. The harms of SCs for non-cancer chronic pain likely outweigh the benefits in young adults, adolescents, and patients with serious mental health, substance use disorder or those at risk of falls.
