Adis Summary of Research: Improving methylphenidate titration in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD): a randomized controlled trial using placebo-controlled titration implemented in clinical practice
摘要
Methylphenidate is a first-line treatment for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). In experimental settings, placebo-controlled titration (PCT) of methylphenidate has shown benefits, including the identification of placebo responders and greater symptom improvement. However, the use of PCT in clinical practice remains limited. Implementing PCT may help reduce overprescription of methylphenidate and inform clinical guidelines for the pharmacological management of children with ADHD.
