<p>Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors have demonstrated benefits in progression-free survival for first-line maintenance therapy of ovarian cancer. Senaparib (派舒宁<sup>®</sup>; Sainapali Jiaonang) is a novel PARP inhibitor that potently inhibits PARP1 and PARP2, which is being developed by IMPACT Therapeutics for the treatment of advanced ovarian cancer and small-cell lung cancer. This article summarizes the milestones in the development of senaparib leading to this first approval for the maintenance treatment of adults with advanced epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer who achieved a complete or partial response to first-line platinum-based chemotherapy.</p>
