Purpose of Review <p>To review the surgical management options of allergic and non-allergic rhinitis.</p> Recent Findings <p> While there are many techniques for turbinate reduction, submucosal turbinoplasty appears to be the most effective in the long-term. Posterior nasal nerve neurectomy or ablation can be a safe, effective option for rhinorrhea.</p> Summary <p> Allergic and non-allergic rhinitis are common conditions, typically characterized by nasal congestion, obstruction and/or rhinorrhea. These conditions significantly affect quality of life. Although medical management is the first line treatment of allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, surgical management can be considered when medical management fails to achieve adequate results. Understanding the anatomy and physiology of the involved structures, such as the inferior turbinate, vidian nerve, and posterior nasal nerve, are important in the safe delivery of surgical management. Various techniques of inferior turbinate reduction and targeting of parasympathetic system are discussed in this chapter. </p>
