This review aims to summarize the current literature regarding chondrolaryngoplasty, describe important anatomic and technical considerations, and review the safety of the procedure.
Recent FindingsChondrolaryngoplasty is a procedure that has been shown to be safe and effective in reducing the laryngeal prominence. With the increased demand in gender-affirming surgery, there has been a marked rise in related research in the past decade. Both transcervical and transoral approaches are safely performed. Studies have found a high patient satisfaction with a low rate of long-term voice and swallowing complications.
