Auditory Rehabilitation Following Cochlear Implantation
摘要
This review summarizes the literature regarding auditory rehabilitation (AR) and cochlear implantation (CI) in adults over the last five years (2019–2024).
Recent FindingsRecent meta-analyses and systematic reviews demonstrate that AR is safe and effective in both adult and pediatric populations. Computer-based auditory training (CBAT) is the most common rehabilitation modality reported in the literature. In adult patients, there is evidence that both computer-based and in-person AR strategies improve speech perception outcomes.
SummaryAR is a safe and effective approach to improving outcomes after CI. Reported outcomes and rehabilitation strategies remain vastly heterogeneous. Future efforts should focus on characterizing optimal rehabilitation technique, scope, and duration.
