RI beam production of ISOL module system for ISOL at RAON
摘要
The Rare Isotope Accelerator complex for ON-line experiments heavy-ion accelerator facility at the Institute for Rare Isotope Science in Korea produces rare isotopes using an Isotope Separation On-Line (ISOL) facility. Rare isotopes are generated within the target through proton-induced fission using a 70-MeV proton beam. For the production of these rare isotopes, ISOL targets are developed and tested. In consideration of the harsh radiation environment in the target area, the ISOL facility has implemented a module system, which facilitates the handling and exchange of modules and target chambers. This module system consists of the target ion source, rare isotope transport, and proton beam diagnostic modules. Remote handling systems are responsible for the handling and maintenance of these modules.
