Conventional magnet system in the RAON linac and KoBRA beamline

摘要

The first phase of the Rare Isotope Science Project was completed in 2022 by constructing the superconducting linac called the SCL3 and seven experimental systems including a low-energy beam spectrometer called the KoBRA (Korea Broad acceptance Recoil spectrometer and Apparatus). Based on the conceptual and technical designs made in 2011 and 2013, respectively, the layout and requirements of the conventional magnet system were prepared. Over 100 magnets and their peripheral equipment were manufactured and installed over a 6-year period. Operation of the conventional magnet system was instrumental during the beam commissioning of the SCL3 and the KoBRA in 2023. In this paper, the construction, installation, and operation of the conventional magnet system of the SCL3 and KoBRA beamline are reviewed.
