Synthesis of CNT Fiber with Different Stacking-made Polyester Composite via Compression Mold: Mechanical Behavior Study

The trend toward advanced polymer composites is growing and offers specific characteristics. The conventional fabrication process found a lack of composite quality and limited improvement in mechanical performance. The polyester-based polymer composites are framed with CNT fiber at 0, 45, and 90° for maximum mechanical qualities and multi-direction through a hot compression technique. The tensile strength, elongation rate, and flexural behavior related to various CNT staking of polyester composite are evaluated, and its values are related to unreinforced polyester laminate. With this laminate combination, the 90° direction provided enhanced tensile/flexural and high elongation rates related to others. The polyester composite with cross-directional CNT facilitates 154 ± 2 MPa of tensile and 167 ± 1.5 MPa of flexural strength. It is greater than the other laminate composites. Besides, the 90° direction-featured CNT-fabricated polyester composite exploited a maximum elongation percentage of 155 ± 10%. This polyester composite is recommended for low-specific-weight applications.
