摘要

With the potential behavior, the polymer composite made with natural fiber spots the special performance in dashboards, interior parts of aviation, panels, seat frames, etc. Besides, natural fiber has lower adhesive performance, which limits the behavior of composites. The main motto is to make the natural sisal fiber (NaOH-treated)/nano-size silicon carbide-incorporated epoxy hybrid nanocomposite via compression mold route with 200 psi at 110 ℃. An impact of fiber (sisal fiber—SF)–ceramic (SiC) combinations on tensile and flexural strength and fracture toughness of epoxy hybrid nanocomposite is investigated with ASTM D638, D790, and D6110 standard, and its outcomes are compared with evaluated epoxy composite with sisal fiber. Epoxy hybrid composite with effective incorporations of 20 wt% sisal fiber and 5 wt% of nano-size SiC recorded superior tensile and flexural, and fracture toughness of 62.5 MPa, 54 MPa, and 1.55MPam0.5. It is applied for automotive interior dashboard applications.
