摘要

Hybrid Aluminium 7075 reinforced with Silicon carbide (SiC) and Aluminium oxide (Al2O3) has achieved greater potential in relation to usage in various sectors. Many simulations published results demonstrates use of Aluminium 7075 metal matrix composites (Al 7075 MMCs) in creation of gears. The fabrication of hybrid Al 7075 MMC spur gears with reinforcements of SiC with variable weight % (wt%) of 3,6,9 and Al2O3 with fixed weight %(wt%) of 5 is therefore the main purpose of this work. In the end, completing experimental work on the hybrid Al 7075 MMCs gears to assess temperature, wear, and bending stress while developing a gear testing apparatus to test these gears experimentally. Experimental trails were conducted on the gears at a fixed speed of 800 rpm while varying torque of 1, 2 and 3 N-m. According to experimental results, Al 7075 with 9 wt% SiC, 5 wt% Al2O3 performed better, exhibiting lower temperature rise, less weight loss from wear, and the ability to endure more cycles without causing damage to teeth. Additionally, it is noticed that outcomes of Al 7075 with 6 wt% SiC, 5 wt% Al2O3 are more similar to Al 7075 with 9 wt% SiC, 5 wt% Al2O3.
